Who we are
TargetAce is made by Last Candle Studios (Last Candle Studios, 38 Carmuirs Drive, Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, ML1 5US, [email protected]). "We" means Last Candle Studios; "you" means anyone using TargetAce.
What these terms cover
These terms cover:
- the TargetAce app
- TargetAce Live (clubs, matches, events and results online)
- targetace.app, including the organiser console and club website widgets
- paid products: TargetAce Pro, campaign add-ons and Club Plus
- paying a club through targetace.app: event entry fees, and bookings for beginners' courses and come and try sessions
Our privacy policy (targetace.app/privacy) explains what personal data we use and why.
Using TargetAce
- Free use. Scoring, badges, the first campaign and TargetAce Live for archers are free.
- Accounts. TargetAce Live creates an account for you when you connect in the app, tied to your device until you link it elsewhere. You can also create an account on targetace.app with Apple, Google or an emailed code. You're responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping the Apple, Google or email account you sign in with secure. You can delete your account in the app at any time (Profile), or on targetace.app if it isn't on a phone yet.
- Behaviour. Be decent. Don't:
- post names, messages or announcements that are abusive, hateful, sexual, or break the law
- impersonate other people or clubs
- try to cheat competitions, for example by entering scores you didn't shoot
- interfere with the service
Anyone can report content or block an archer. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
- Children. Anyone can use TargetAce to score on their own phone. TargetAce Live (clubs, matches and results online) is for archers aged 13 or over, or younger archers with the agreement of a parent or guardian or of their club. On public pages, archers in junior age classes are shown by first name and initial (see our privacy policy). Purchases by under-18s need a parent's or guardian's permission; the stores' family settings apply.
Clubs and organisers
- Organisers run their club on TargetAce Live. They decide who joins, what competitions and events run, and what appears on the club's public page and website.
- Organisers are responsible for:
- having their club's agreement to use TargetAce
- running their club's events, including safety on the range, which TargetAce does not control
- any fees they collect from archers
- Results, names and bow styles that a club chooses to publish can be seen by anyone with the link.
Clubs that take payments
- Clubs that take entry fees or course bookings connect their own Stripe account, and agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
- The club is the seller. It is responsible for:
- the events and courses it sells
- its prices, refunds and wording
- any tax on its income
- TargetAce's booking charge is taken from each payment as Stripe's application fee. When the club cancels a booking or a course, the person who booked is refunded in full from the club's Stripe balance, and TargetAce's booking charge isn't returned to the club.
- We may stop a club taking payments through TargetAce, or suspend the club, if it misuses payments, doesn't run what people paid for, has repeated disputes, or breaks these terms.
Paid products
In-app purchases (TargetAce Pro and campaign add-ons)
- These are sold through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms, including their refund rules.
- Pro renews automatically until you cancel in your store account.
TargetAce Pro on targetace.app
- Pro can also be bought on targetace.app, paid through Stripe, monthly or yearly. The price is shown before you pay and includes any VAT.
- It renews until you cancel from the manage-subscription page, and runs to the end of the paid month or year.
- If you cancel within 14 days of first buying it, we refund it in full.
Club Plus
- Club Plus is an annual subscription for a club, bought on targetace.app and paid through Stripe. The price is shown before you pay and includes any VAT.
- It renews each year until an organiser cancels. You can cancel at any time from the manage-subscription page, and it runs until the end of the paid year.
- If you cancel within 14 days of first buying Club Plus, we refund it in full. After that there are no part refunds: Plus runs to the end of the paid year.
- If a plan lapses:
- Club Plus features stop: website results show as paused, and size limits apply to new competitions, ladders, knockouts and events.
- Anything already running carries on.
- The club's data is kept.
- Changes to what's free. We may change which features are paid, but we won't take away features from people already using them in the middle of a paid period.
Event entry fees
- When a club takes entry fees online, you pay the club through Stripe, into the club's own Stripe account. The club is the organiser and is responsible for the event; TargetAce provides the booking service.
- A booking fee is added to the entry fee and shown before you pay. It covers the card fees and TargetAce's booking charge. (A club may choose to pay the booking fee itself, in which case you pay the entry fee only.)
- Withdrawing before the entry deadline: you get everything back, booking fee included, to the card you paid with.
- Withdrawing after the entry deadline, or being withdrawn by the organiser: there is no refund through TargetAce.
- Cancelled events: TargetAce doesn't refund cancelled events. Any refund is between you and the club, which can refund you from its own Stripe account. (Courses are different: see below.)
- Leaving the club or deleting your TargetAce account before the entry deadline counts as withdrawing, and is refunded in the same way.
- Payment disputes (chargebacks) are between you, your bank and the club.
Beginners' courses and come and try sessions
- When you book a club's beginners' course or come and try session on targetace.app, you pay the club through Stripe, into the club's own Stripe account. You don't need a TargetAce account.
- The club runs the course and is responsible for it, including its booking form and the questions on it, its own terms, its insurance and safety. TargetAce provides the booking service and handles your booking for the club (see our privacy policy and the data processing agreement at targetace.app/dpa).
- A booking fee is added to the price of each place and shown before you pay. It covers the card fees and TargetAce's booking charge. (A club may choose to pay the booking fee itself.)
- Cancelling: you can cancel some or all of your places with the link in your confirmation email. Before the club's refund deadline (its booking deadline, or else the start of the course) you get back everything you paid for those places, booking fee included, to the card you paid with. After it, there is no refund through TargetAce.
- If the club cancels your booking or the whole course, you get back everything you paid, booking fee included.
- Waiting list: if the course is full you can join its waiting list. If a place comes up we email you, and the place is held for you to pay for, for up to 24 hours.
- Payment disputes (chargebacks) are between you, your bank and the club. A disputed payment isn't refunded through TargetAce.
Club memberships
- When you pay your club membership on targetace.app, you pay the club through Stripe, into the club's own Stripe account. The club sets its membership types, prices, dates and rules and is responsible for its membership; TargetAce provides the payment service.
- A booking fee is added to each membership and shown before you pay. It covers the card fees and TargetAce's booking charge. (A club may choose to pay the booking fee itself, in which case you pay the membership price only.) Where the price includes Archery GB and county fees, that's shown too; the club passes them on.
- If your club puts you in a household, anyone in the household can pay for everyone in it, in one payment.
- Reminders and lapsing: we remind you before your membership is due and if it's overdue. If it isn't paid within the club's grace period it lapses. If the club has chosen to, you then can't enter its competitions or events until it's paid.
- Refunds: you can't cancel a membership for a refund through TargetAce; ask the club. If the club refunds your membership, you get back everything you paid for it, booking fee included, to the card you paid with.
- Paying the club another way (cash or bank transfer) is between you and the club; an organiser can record it so your membership shows as paid.
- Payment disputes (chargebacks) are between you, your bank and the club. A disputed payment isn't refunded through TargetAce.
Your content
- You keep ownership of what you add, such as scores, names, club details and announcements.
- You let us store, show and process it to run TargetAce. That includes showing club results publicly where the club has chosen to.
Our service
- We work hard to keep TargetAce running and accurate, but it is provided "as is".
- Handicaps, classifications and awards follow the published Archery GB and World Archery tables as closely as we can. Official claims still go through your club and national body.
- We may change or stop features.
- We'll give reasonable notice before we stop anything you've paid for.
Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Otherwise:
- We're not liable for indirect losses.
- Our total liability to you in any year is limited to what you paid us in that year, or £50 if that's more.
Ending
- You can stop using TargetAce and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We'll post changes on this page, and tell you in the app for significant ones. Continuing to use TargetAce after a change means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights you have as a consumer where you live, including bringing a claim in your local courts.
